The Hive
Watch full film
A sense of place.
A coastal property film created from still images. Buba shaped the sequence, motion and transitions to connect intimate interiors with the landscape outside.
The space. The setting.
The interior leads the eye out to the landscape.

A room with a rhythm
Light and perspective connect the spaces without rushing through them.
Separate views.
One journey.
Project context
The Hive is a property film built around the relationship between the interior and its coastal setting. Warm timber, rooms filled with light and views towards the water give the sequence its visual character. Buba’s contribution was to connect those separate views into a film.

Starting material
The starting point was a collection of still images. No source video footage was supplied. Each image offered a view of the property; the movement, animated sequences and transitions had to be created from that material.

Creative challenge
A set of photographs does not arrive with a beginning, a rhythm or a route through the space. The challenge was to make the images feel connected, so that a change of room or viewpoint carried the viewer forward rather than interrupting the experience.
Our approach
We selected and ordered the imagery to shape a coherent visual journey. Interior details establish the atmosphere before wider views open the film towards the landscape. Motion and transitions connect the still views, while the edit gives each setting its place within the sequence. Visual continuity holds the different perspectives together.

Final piece
The result is an image-derived property film that moves between intimate spaces and the wider setting. Sequencing, animation and editing turn a collection of individual stills into a connected experience of the property.
